The Future of Security Surveillance:  AI-based CCTV Monitoring

The Problems - The state of video monitoring today

Operator fatigue: A CCTV operator loses focus after 20 minutes of looking at the footage. He/she can only monitor a limited number of video feeds simultaneously. CCTV operators are also affected by occupational health problems such as computer vision syndrome. As a result, CCTVs are used only for deterrence or investigation, not for real-time threat response.

Equipment Sprawl: Infrastructure keeps changing over time, new cameras and NVRs are added and there is a mix of manufacturers, camera models, and features. Hence there is no single pane view of the entire system.

Hardware Limitations: Features in hardware devices are frozen and cannot be upgraded easily. There is a 3-to-5-year lag between AI-innovation and their incorporation in devices. Features such as cross-camera event sequencing, global video search, etc. cannot be implemented in hardware devices.

Solution – Artificial Intelligence-based Video Surveillance

Respond to threats in real-time: Key distinguishing features of AI-based video surveillance include landscape change detection, perimeter intrusion detection, violence detection, crowd control, license plate detection, congestion alert etc.

Investigate Incidents: Hours of video footage can be summarized and made searchable for persons or objects across thousands of video cameras, thus enabling speedy investigation.

Audit and enhance security architecture: Helps identify hotspots and low coverage zones using geo-spatial mapping and enables optimization of human guarding using a threat analysis framework.

Intellisense – Stalwart’s new generation AI-based Video Surveillance Platform Stalwart’s autonomous surveillance platform is the first of its kind in the country. Intellisense does not require replacement of existing cameras, recording equipment, or networking infrastructure. Exploring Security Guard Training

Here is how our intensive training supports our team to deliver the best service.

Better Job Knowledge:

Our regular training comes with both classroom sessions and on-the-job instructions on post-wise duties and responsibilities, specific to the customer site. This increases the confidence of the security guards and enables them to do their job consistently well.

Increased Awareness of Threats:

Most people tend to respond to threats only when they occur. Training helps security guards to identify risks and recognize volatile situations and respond to them effectively, thus preventing incidents from happening. Scenario based training equips them with the awareness they need to identify and deal with suspicious behavior.

Familiarity with Technology:

Security guards need to keep up with the latest technology deployed at the customer site including applications used to monitor Attendance, Visitors, Vehicles, Patrolling etc. Depending on the industry they are working in, security guards are also trained on the latest trends in CCTV monitoring, face recognition-based verification, drone surveillance, and so on.

Fire Safety and First Aid training:

A well-trained security guard can save people's lives by conducting a safe rescue operation during a fire. They are trained to activate the fire alarms, direct people to the nearest emergency exit, inform the fire department and help put out the fire. Regular checking of fire extinguishers and fire hydrants ensures that they are not expired or damaged. Ensuring that fire exit corridors are clear of obstructions helps people evacuate quickly. Similarly, when a guard is trained in CPR & first-aid, they are also trained to remain calm & patient in difficult situations. They not only ensure physical safety but also provide emotional support, which helps the victims to relax.

At Stalwart People Services, we focus on not just rigorously training our security guards before sending them out on the job but also on providing regular on-the-job training to ensure consistency in performance and improve their morale. We also offer Fire Evacuation Mock Drill services to organizations, which is a three-day program consisting of ERT training and demonstration. Feel free to reach out to us if you are interested in availing these services.

Thank you.
